Honda Accord Hybrid Car

The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid is your 45 MPG family sedan. Honda has been selling hybrid cars in the U.S. since 1999 but they have been doing it all wrong! In the old hybrid systems, the electric motor was on the same shaft as the gasoline engine. This was called IMA or integrated motor assist. So anytime the electric motor was going to power the car, it had to also spin the gas motor as well which is not very efficient. What Honda has done with the new earth dreams system on the 2014 Accord Hybrid is separate the electric motor from the gas engine.
